Here are the final details about the Cover Your Armor competition at Storvik
Novice Tourney. I tried sending this to the Merry Rose a while back, but, it
seems that it never made it. This is the competition I've announced
at quite a few Kingdom-level events as well as referenced in my "Acorn" letter
for the last few months.

********************************************************************************

Persuiant to the changes their Majesties enacted at Curia at Windmasters'
Hill Baronial Champions, I am sponsoring a competition to be held at Storvik
Novice Tourney.

CYA
(Cover Your Armor)

The new law says, essentially, (Exact law test to be found in the "Acorn!")
that all plastic and/or modern sports equipment must be covered in a manner to
disgiuse the material in an attempt to display historical pre-17th century
accoutrements to the average passerby.

With this in mind, the competition will have three parts: one for covering
arms and/or hands, one for covering legs and/or feet, and the last for covering
a fighter from the neck down.

The goal of this competition is to make ideas available across the Kingdom
to help fighters make the transition as painless as possible. This is not a
competition to show how you can just use leather instead of plastic or
pre-manufactured sports equipment. The assumption should be that verything
the fighter is wearing is plastic or mundane sorts equipment.

For the arms/legs catrgory, ways to cover plastic arms and bracers and/or
mundane (hockey) gloves are the main goal.

The legs and feet category includes coverings for thigh armor, knees, shin
protection and/or shoes/boots.

For the whole body category, the artisan should assume the fighter is
wearing Society minimum armor and everything they are wearing is plastic.

The prizes for the first two will be announced at the competition. The prize
for the last category is 10 (TEN) YARS OF RAW SILK IN YOUR CHOICE OF COLOR(S).

What you can assume:
Access to a store that sells clothing, sewing supplies, cloth, etc.
Access to a local artisan that can do BASIC sewing. (not tailoring)
Anything else, just drop me a line and I'll answer your questions.

Written descriptions of armor covering techniques are requested but not
required, and will be published kingdom-wide to assist other artisans and
fighters in complying with the new law. Publication permission forms will
be made available.

If you have any questions about Kingdom law, feel free to contact their
Majesties, Kingdom Seneschal, or Kingdom Earl Marshall.

For questions about the competition, please contact me. My contact information
make be found in the "Acorn."
