Here is the preliminary announcement for the Coronation of Ragnarr and
Kyneburh to be held on September 5th-7th, 2003.
The Baronies of Ponte Alto and Stierbach welcomes one and all to attend
the ascension of Ragnarr and Kyneburh to the thrones of Atlantia.
The day will be filled with frolic, festivities and pageantry. The last
Court of Logan and Isabel will be held on the List Field on Saturday
morning to be immediately followed by the Coronation.
A Target archery competition will be held in addition to heavy and
rapier tournaments.
Arts and Science Competitions: Tempore Atlantia will again be sponsored
by the office of the MoAS for Atlantia. The time period this time will
be late period. The MoAS will be sponsoring Best in Show and Best
Documentation competitions. For those wishing to sponsor other
competitions, please contact Lord James of Middle Aston -
moas at atlantia.sca.org.
Hayrides for the youth will occur on Saturday afternoon.
There will be merchanting.
Both a Bardic circle and dancing will be held after feast.
The site: The event will be held at Camp Highroad, 21164 Steptoe Hill
Road, Middleburg, Virginia. The site opens on Friday, Sept. 5, at 5pm
and will close on Sunday, Sept 7, at noon.
Tent camping is unlimited, and will be next to the tourney field. There
will be porta-johns at the hall and field, as well as shower houses a
short walk away. No pets. The site is DRY. No firearms or fireworks are
permitted on site. No ground fires except at the designated bardic
circle area. Portable stoves are acceptable. Parking may be a
challenge: If the nearby lots fill up, be prepared to take a shuttle
from a parking lot or hike a bit, and please remember that car pooling
is always good.
There are a limited number of dormitory-style rooms in the Oak Lodge by
the hall. There are 2-bed, 3-bed, and 4-bunk (8 people) rooms, with
restrooms and showers off the hallway. Photos of the rooms can be seen
on the web site. Sorry, but the site restricts use of the showers and
restrooms to only those who are staying in the Lodge.
For those who prefer to stay in a hotel, a block of rooms are being
reserved at an area hotel. [TBD]
Food: Mistress Ursula d'Arcy and Master Tirloch of Tallaght will be
providing a sumptuous above-the-salt feast in the hall for 80 people as
well as a tavern-style feast by the field for 100 people. There will be
limited covered seating for the tavern feast. Lunch will be available
at a nominal price from the Canton of Sudentur. A simple breakfast will
be available on Saturday and Sunday mornings to all those camping.

Providing an email address or stamped self-addressed envelope will get
you a confirmation of your reservation and allow our reservations clerk
to contact you if there is any question or problem. If you request room
in the lodge, consider sending reservations together for your group, and
specify whether you want a two-bed, three-bed, or eight-bed room.

Directions:
>From DC area: Take the Beltway (I-495) to I-66 West [Manassas / Front
Royal]. At I-66 Exit 57B, turn RIGHT onto Ramp towards US-50 [Fair Oaks
/ Winchester].
Go 17.3 miles on US-50 crossing over US-15. After going through Aldie,
VA, turn RIGHT onto SNICKERSVILLE TURNPIKE. Go 4.6 miles, and turn
RIGHT onto LIME KILN RD. Follow this road for 0.5 miles. Turn left to
continue on Lime Kiln Road, and follow for another 0.4 miles. Turn LEFT
onto STEPTOE HILL RD and into the camp.
Other directions from the southern and northern parts of the Kingdom
will appear soon on the web site.
