Greetings to all.
As was pointed out in an earlier post... there are a vast majority of people who, when left to their own devices, choose to abstain from a vote or poll for whatever reason. Sometimes, they just forget and sometimes they may feel like they just don't really have an opinion on the matter and either way is fine with them.
With this being the case, should The Crown wish to re-poll the populace, could we not encourage a better voting response by going down the "chain of command" ?
If we've tried a general polling once and did not get sufficient numbers to "accurately represent the populace" then why not encourage our Baronage and Seneschals to go out into their groups and get some feedback?
It's the whole petition thing if you think about it... but instead of cornering people at events or whatever, you have a seneschal asking for votes at a business meeting where you can make sure that all the pertinent information is given and you might have less in the way of chances for duplicate votes.
Please keep in mind that this is just an idea, but it could work. The re-polling information could be made official in the Acorn and then the actual information would be gathered by whomever from different groups.
If in re-polling you have all of Baronies, Shires, Colleges, etc represented, then, theoretically, the numbers themselves become less of an issue since all your active groups have responded.
Please keep in mind that this is merely a suggestion.
Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July weekend.
