...and to follow up further, I've gone and looked at the thread on Armour
Archive. Data offered there asserts that the archer could not have seen 
the injured party because there were others in the line of sight and
flight. The intended target dodged. 

It is suggested that the injured party was closer to being in line with
the bridge that one might infer from his words.

Sir Richard: are you in possession of facts of this case that actually
support the veiled calumny you throw about?
