A troupe is being formed to produce 1-2 short comedies by the 10th century
Saxon Nun Hrosvitha. 8-10 people are needed for each play. It would be
best if you can commit to a part before the event, but there may still be
parts available on the day of the event. This ad hoc troupe will have a
couple hours in the morning to rehearse, do blocking, etc. Performance of
the plays for an audience is expected to happen at or around lunch time.
This is meant to be fun. If some actors need to read from scripts on
stage, so be it. If mistakes happen, they might be funny.

Dulcitius - The evil Dulcitius seeks the women Agape, Irena, and Chionia
with malicious intent. Having captured the women he is tricked into
believing that the pots and pans in his kitchen are the women. The play
ends with the martyrdom of the women.

Paphnutius - This is the story of the conversion of the most popular of
prostitutes by the Hermit, Paphnutius.

This is planned to be an historical "fashion show" of the music of our
period. This exhibition ought to take up several hours in the afternoon.
The production will showcase various acts demonstrating the variety of
musical performance in our period. Each number should start with a brief
commentary - perhaps about the historical context of the piece,
translation (if necessary), discussion of any instruments used and other
interesting tidbits. After the exhibition, I'd like performers to be
available for a casual Q&A session with the audience and other performers.

I'd like to feature a few numbers from every century between 1000-1600 AD
including both sacred and secular works, solo and group performance,
vocal, instrumental, different cultures, etc. While the focus is on
historical pieces, original material in a period style or about historical
events may also be appropriate. It would be extra cool if people dress
according to the period and style they are performing. Also, while the
focus is on *music* I am also open to good storytelling, very short drama,
poetry, and other performance arts. Lots of people are needed to make
this work. Tell me what you want to do, and I'll find a way to fit you
into the program.

Imagine a "Who's Line is it Anyway?" style thing going on before court to
amuse the assembling crowd. This will start about 30 minutes before court.

Open Bardic Circle
Director/Coordinator: Master Efenwealt Wystle

Assuming there is time and interest, we'll have an open bardic circle
after everything else.

If you have other ideas *AND* are willing to implement them, please tell
Master Efenwealt.
