TV just got a lot more interesting -
Tonite on the Learning Channel two supposedly new Viking Programs
(Documentaries):
9-10pm and 12-1am e.s.t.
Blood of the Vikings: Archaeologists study Viking Lifestyles.
10-11pm and 1-2am e.s.t.
Trail of the Vikings: The Last Viking Army: Their Greatest Voyage to
to America
If you have not seen the new Conquest series on History Channel
with Peter Woodward, you've been missing something.
So far they have done Tournament, Unusual Weapons of the Middle Ages
(peasants take on armored opponents), Medieval Archers (novice archers
take on armored opponents), and a program on trashed car crashing
contests.
Similarly R. Lee Ermey has had a number of historical bits on
Mail Call including flaking arrowheads and making stone age to
American Indian Arrows. For a loud retired Marine he's not at all
stuffy in his takes on ancient to modern weapons and the programs
are quite instructive and entertaining.
The program last night on the History Channel was Unconventional
Warfare with a lot of historical reenactment and take outs from
old films. It was more ancient and medieval than modern. Genghis
Khan, the Mongols, and the spread of the Black Death was a big part
of it for example. Starts with the life of Hannibal and his war
with the Romans. It will probably replay soon. Check

Check your local listings, these are eastern standard times in America.

It generally helps if you want to ask me a question to put an
