To the heroic fighters of the Known Worlde,
We, Lord Christopher Hare and Lady Maria Theresa de Normand, do issue a small
challenge. The challenge is to fight a total of 250 bouts before the last
Friday of Pennsic A.S. XXXVIII. This test of endurance is issued to ALL
heavy and rapier fighters interested in pushing their skill to the limit.
The Rules: melees do not count, but of coarse, tourney's, pick up fights, and
practices do. You may fight the same person on different days, but you may
only count the same fighter once per day. (Example: John fights Gary twice on
Friday. That will only count as one registered fight. But if John and Gary
fight on Friday and then again on Saturday, both may register two fights one
on Friday and one on Saturday.) No more than 100 of these bouts should be
fought at Pennsic. Meaning if you make it to Pennsic without having fought
150 bouts you are disqualified from the challenge. But if you get to Pennsic
having fought 250 bouts then you have meet the challenge and need only report
to Lord Christopher Hare or Lady Maria-Theresa de Normand at the Ponte Alto
encampment to confirm the validity of your success. And so that we can keep
it all chronicled, and encourage you on a regular basis we ask that you send
the number of fights and the names of the good gentles that accepted to the
following e-mail address with the words Penxic 250 Challenge in the subject
line to-diadne952 at cs.com. You will then receive an e-mail confirming your
registration and thereafter, a listing of who is participating what there
numbers are and encouraging words to keep you going. If you have any
questions send them to Lady Maria-Theresa de Normand at the above e-mail
address with the words Question 250 Challenge in the subject line.
You will receive your favor and prizes on the last Friday of Pennsic. So
look for the annoncement in your Pennsic Paper, or on-line when I get home
from the war. Good luck, Good fighting and I hope to see you at Pennsic.
Please pass this on to any and all SCA fighters that you think would be
interested.
Yours in service,
Lady Maria-Theresa de Normand
