[MR] An off topic piece of advice for all

Just a bit of clarification on the story...........

In the Mid-Atlantic region of the East Coast, the #77 feature on any cell
phone will automatically get you the STATE police, in whatever area your cell
phone signal picks up. Although State police have jurisdiction on all state
and county roads, they only patrol the major routes, not the surface streets.
If you are not on a major route or highway, stick with the 911 feature on
your phone. Its free, and may save the extra time it takes to transfer your
call. This is true in all states in this area. We have ongoing
communications with all other regional jurisdictions.

Its unfortunate that we find ourselves in potentially life-threatening
situations, and calm-thinking is sometimes the last thing we can pull
together. Maybe I'm a little bias on this topic,,, but, in over a decade of
SCA life, and a life time of work in the Emergency Services, I have come to
the conclusion that over-all, SCA people are more level headed, and prepared
for those unexpected emergencies, then some of the hysterics I get on the 911
phones. After all, we ALL know that duct tape can fix anything,,,,,,,,
