[MR] hearing from laurels and responses to "that's not period"

It seem in this converstaion that even laurels have
been the victims of obnoxious judging comments just as
much as the rest of us have been.  Yet they moved
passed these comments and on to the Order of the
Laurel.  That's the real lesson isn't it?

Maybe someone on the laurel's list should compile a
list of obnoxious comments they've received and chose
to ignore as inspiration to those of us that are not
laurels.  I think it could be depressing but also
downright funny to realize that this was a comment
they receive and yet achieved the highest A&S order
SCA has to offer.

Personally I'm not witty and quick with "quips" to
"that's not period" whenever I hear it either.  So I'm
working on my list of responses to "that's not period"
in order to share them with others who are not quick
with responses.  Unfortunately I have to change the
language quite a bit <EG>

My favorite is as always to someone who is walking
past me:

stranger:  "That's not period"
me:  "Are you always this negative or are you just
having a bad day?"
