Good Gentles All,
Once again this year, Baron Phillip and I are auctioning off (silent
auction) a period dinner for 4 to benefit the American Cancer Society's
Relay for Life (Calvert Co., MD). The dinner will be served on Monday
night of War Week at Pennsic...unless the winner isn't going to be
there. In that case, we will work out a mutually agreeable time and
place.

This year, the dinner will be dishes that were done in the Elizabethan
period. Many of you have eaten the Elizabethan feasts that I have done
for Lochmere's Night on the Town. Many of the same dishes will be
featured...Pork Brawn, Lombardy Tarts, Sweet Potato and Apple
casserole, etc. I may be able to get Phillip to make some of his (non-
period) Cranberry Mead, and we will serve an appropriate wine.

The minimum bid on this is $30, though we hope it will go for a lot
more. All of the proceeds (Phillip and I are donating all of the food,
etc.) will go to the Relay for Life. This money, in turn, is used for
research and education for all types of cancer. The American Cancer
Society has one of the highest percentages of money raised going to
benefit its objective of any charity out there. Many of you have had
cancer...more of you have had friends or loved ones who have had the
disease. You know how awful it is. We are working both for a cure and
to help folks get diagnosed as early as possible.

So, if you wish to bid on the feast, send your bid to me at this
address (please do not simply reply to the Merry Rose...but send it to
me privately). I will post information every few days to let you know
how the bidding is going. The winner will be announced at the Dun
Carraig event, Challenge of the Heart, on April 12. We will accept
bids at the event, then announce the winner during our Court.

Thanks for your consideration of my request!

Minowara Kiritsubo,
  Baroness of Dun Carraig

PS: I received a $30 bid this past weekend, which opened the
proceedings. So now, the lowest bid should be $35.
