Feast of Thirty, May 16-18, 2003
Camp York, King's Mountain State Park, Blacksburg, SC

Come Gentles and Nobles to a celebration of that glorious conflict of
Arms and Skills known to all as the Hundred Years War! Once again the
Canton of Falcon Cree is hosting the Feast of the Thirty in honor of
the brave champions of France and England who strove for victory before
the gates of Ploermel. All those who attend are asked to choose between
England and France and to wear the colors of their side (blue for
France and red for England). The whole day’s activities shall be
devoted to contests between the rival kingdoms with each win to affect
the contests of the other fields of endeavor. So, bring your swords,
your bows, and your arts to bear on this great day of challenge and
renown.

Fighting: On Saturday the list will open at 10 am and authorizations
will commence at 10:30. There will be heavy and rapier melee scenarios,
and combat archery will be allowed in at least one of the heavy
battles.

Ladies: There will be a ladies pillow fight Saturday morning. Pillows
will be provided and tourney style will be decided based on the number
of participants that morning.

Arts and Sciences: Details for these competitions can be found on the
event’s web site. A table top siege engines competition shot for
distance and accuracy will take place on the field during the day. Also
on the field will be a competition for best field display (sign up will
be in the hall). The following competitions will take place in the
hall: Hats and hoods in the 14th century, and Favors and tokens.

Archery: Combat archery will be allowed in at least one of the heavy
fighting battles, and a target archery competition will also occur.

Equestrian: We will have equestrian activities, please contact Lady

Feast: Lord Kelan of Falcon Cree is preparing a meal that will delight
the senses after a full day of activity. Please contact him at
webminister at falconcree.org with any dietary concerns. Cut off date for
feast reservations will be May 1.

Merchants: Merchants are welcome, please contact the autocrat to
reserve space.

Evening Activities: The Atlantian Dance Academie will host a ball in
the hall after feast. A bardic circle may also occur if there is
interest.

Newcomers: Garb will be required for all gentiles in the main areas of
the event from 10 am until 8 pm on Saturday. Newcomers are encouraged
to contact the gold key THL Muirgheal at muirgheal at charter.net ahead of
time to arrange the use of loaner clothing.

Site: Kings Mountain State Park, Camp York, Blacksburg, SC 29702. NO
animals will be allowed on site except service animals and horses
participating in the equestrian activities. The site is DRY. Site opens
at 5 pm on Friday and closes at 10 am on Sunday. Parking and space for
unloading will be limited, so please plan accordingly.

Directions: From the South: Take your best route to I-85 just north of
the NC/SC border. Take exit #2 (King’s Mountain Military Park). Turn
right on 216 through the Military Park to King’s Mountain State Park.
Turn at the sign for Group Camps and follow the signs for Camp York.
