Unto my Noble Friends of Atlantia does Baron Werhener send Greetings.
It is my privelege and my honor to serve as Head Cook for the College of
Yarnvid's upcoming Ice Ax. For your Enjoyment and Amusement, we will have a
Glorious Feast, drawn (mostly) from the pages of "Das Buch von Guter Spice",
the earliest Known Book of "Good Food" to come to us from our Germannic
friends. Consisting of 14th century Recipes from the area surrounding
Wurzburg, it offers us a Delicious Glimpse of our culinary past. I am
grateful to Alia Atlas, whose translation of "Das Buch..." was copyrighted
in 1994 and to Mistress Thjora, who introduced me to this fine resource. So
saying, the menu for Ice Ax is as follows:
First Remove:
Fischeintopf (Fish Stew)
Brittlebread (Scandinavian Flatbread)
Second Remove:
Schweinbraten mit Swallenberge Salse (Roast Pork with Swollenberg Sauce)
Steckrubegemischt (Puree'd turnips and cheese)
Bonen an Salse mit Kummelkorner (Beans in a Caraway Sauce)
Morchenmus (Carrots in almond milk and wine)
Third Remove:
Birnen an Honig (Baked Pears Seethed in Honey)
Der Haselnuss und Weichweizen Palatschinken (Hazelnut and Whole Wheat
Pancakes)
Complete Recipes for all these Dishes will be posted outside of the Kitchen.
