I'm catching on to this one a bit late.
I'm sure it's been posted various other places, but in case some have
been missed here it is. Please reply to Dan at arkeodok.com
I don't sell these. I am blindcopying those lists that I can for
brevity..

These are the same people who produced the Viking Beads and Viking
Combs CD's. Which are a steal for the money. You get real photographs,
and sometimes instructions and a bibliography for the items. It's in
English and you really have an advantage buying these CD's over the
expensive primary material, and the postage on that stuff from most of
Scandinavia is really quite high. Most of those are not in English.

I have the first two myself, and all the rest of Dan's publications.
They sell very well at events for the merchants I have seen carry them.

Viking Heritage is an excellent magazine they also publish in print
and on the web. I highly recommend it. It covers present
day excavations and research from many countries.

*I have not seen this one yet.* I do have Wikingerzeit Gotlands
(Viking Age Gotland)( a large trading island in the Baltic Sea.)
I & II, which cost me at least $150 and there are metal clad
knife sheathes there that can be reconstructed from the shape
of the metal and the knife therein. As Gotland is where the
great majority of Viking Age Finds are made in Sweden this
should be an excellent opportunity. And it is much cheaper
than the Museum of London's Knives and Scabbards.

Anyone wishing to send me a note to be seen except by
accident I highly suggest putting an * in front of the
subject line. I mostly read by list, and not so much by
date and the asterisk makes it pop to the top. This
comes of being on far too many lists to have time for.

Dear friend,
As you know, our next issue of Viking artifacts on CD-R will be about
knives. I was hoping to be able to have it before the end of December,
but it looks as if it will be sometime after New Years Eve. I will let
you
know as soon as it is finished. In the meantime, we have started to
put up a gallery of pictures of different aspects of Vikings and Viking
life (www.arkeodok.com). So far, there are pictures of beads, combs
and skeletons/graves. We are working on the gallery to have more
different items.

We are also selling pictures for publications. We deliver them in high
resolution photos (tiff and jpg, 300 dpi). I have been checking
around on different museums, and I must admit that the price
is very high for just a single photo to be used in a publication,
and I do find it very expensive. We try to keep the cost as low
as possible, and we can offer for publications photos for the price
of $30, which is about 1/3 to 1/2 of the normal price from museums.
And I do think that the quality of the pictures are as good as any
other museums.

So, if you are planning any publications, please have a look at our
picture gallery, and don’t hesitate to ask if you have any question.

Best regards

Dan Carlsson
