Friends and neighbors,
As others have pointed out, "spiff" takes up considerable bulk and weight.
Loading and unloading for an event can take lots of effort. So, my lady and
I just bought a War Trailer. We're hoping that having a portable SCA closet
will save us lots of toting and fetching, not to mention freeing up scarce
garage space.
It's a basic white aluminum box with wheels. Ho-hum. I think it would
look better with kingdom and baronial badges painted on it, not to mention
my own device. Maybe even a slogan like, "Pennsic or bust!" or "Follow me
to the 14th Century!"
Well, maybe not. I might want to sell this thing one day, or use it for
another purpose. Or even move to another kingdom. Paint is awfully
permanent.
Maybe big door magnets? Nah. It's aluminum.
So, here's the really crazy idea. There are spray-on coatings that are
typically used for paint booths. Paint sticks to the coating, but the
coating peels off the wall. Some of them are even waterproof. Here's an
example:

Suppose I paint the sides of the trailer with PeelKleer, decorate it, and
when the war is over peel it off again. Would that work? Do any of you
have any experience with this stuff?
Your servant,
Charles Fleming
