Master Herveus,
As to the effect of Laurels offering demeaning
comments to the efforts of others, I am reminded of a
motto from someone in Elizabeth's court, "Lofty things
fear being made low by simple things". Perhaps if
someone is not secure enough or feels threatened by
the work of others their first instinct is to bring
those people down. It must seem easier at first then
bring oneself up. I am also reminded of another motto,
"death makes the shovel and the scepter equals."
I can scarcely imagine someone offering ill words
to your good wife, and hope the scoundrel was put to
right at least.
In service
James ap Llywelyn
