Obligation? No, methinks not. Is it a Good Thing? Yes. It helps
guard against insularity. It shows support. It lets gentles meet
gentles that they might not otherwise have ever met. Certainly, if it
is not unreasonably inconvenient for you to go, seriously consider
going! But if it is unreasonably inconvenient, nobody will fault you
for not going.
