[MR] Event listing, making plans, etc.

I have events that I attend in July that I register for, make hotel
reservations, etc in November or December of the previous year. For
trips, I try to plan them at least 6 months out, or better yet a year or
more. I have already made some plans for events for Christmas time of
this year. Just because some people rarely plan more than a month or two
in advance does not mean that everyone else waits until the last minute.
