Additionally, sending books to the stopover points is a good idea.  And
unfortunately, to the hospital points is a good idea

Unfortunately a lot of bases have been closed in the last 12 years since I
got out, so I don't know which ones in that neck of the woods are still
open.  While I was in, and stationed in NAS Sigonella, a lot of folks on
their way to Desert Shield stopped there... When Desert Storm began, I know
a lot of folks were still coming through there.  I know back then injured
were sent to either Rota Spain, or Ramstein Air Base (Picking up used books
from the book exchange in Rota while recovering was a godsend, and if any of
you sent books then.. THANK YOU!)
