Several of our dear friends have been in and out of Kazakhstan, Afghanistan
and Kuwait in recent years. We get many requests from them for paperback
novels, magazines and music CDs.

At first we rounded up books from around the house and mailed them out.
When that resource dwindled to the favorites with which I could not bear to
part, we began to pay visits to the local PTA thrift store. For $0.25 to
$1.00 each you can pick up a number of books that will provide numerous
hours of entertainment for the serviceman *and* benefit your local schools.
While we did try to pick up books to his taste, we found that just about
anything remotely interesting is welcome because the books will be passed
around and traded several times.

I do hope this helps!
