Friends and neighbors,

The only competition I have entered recently was for brewing.  I was nearby
when the judges uncorked the potion.  From the bugged eyes, gasping breath,
and deep shudders, I could tell they didn't care for it.  In fact, I thought
one of them might need professional attention.  But, the comments were very
kind and helpful, and I even got a decent numerical score.  Presentation,
clarity, and all that.

It takes true grit to open a bottle of who-know-what and take a swig.  My
hat is off to our brave judges.
