I would like to state my preference for separating the vigil and the induction into the first (surprise!!) and the second (well-planned). In my case, I was oncall that weekend, and made arrangements to have coverage for Saturday from 9 am to 11 pm so I could come and sing. Almost didn't go because I got very little sleep the night before, was so flabbergasted that I was not articulate :-), and didn't get to really party and enjoy it afterwards because I had to head right back home later that evening. (I did however wear my Laurel medallion the next day in the hospital even if I was wearing mundane attire). Granted my lifestyle at the time was extreme compared to most, but in my personal case, I would have planned my mundane life better had I known!  and invited my parents...  Rosalind
