actually i would argue that they are not safe to be thrown in a melee as i
dont see how they would collapse if being stepped on. or did i miss
something in the description?

regards

The ancient Celts used to take the heads of their defeated enemies and
preserve them.
They would bring them out to show their guests and relate their defeated
enemy's heroic exploits. All in all, a charming custom.

Personally, I like to put them up on spears around my encampment, wear
them on my belt, and throw them at my enemies in a melee.
They are also fun to bring out and show to my guests at parties.

Fuil and I will be making a goodly number of these over the next few
months and thought some other folks might want one (or five) for their
own purposes.

We make them out of styrofoam wig stands (they are like mannikin heads),
and cover the with flesh-colored t-shirt material.
Then, we add a touch of color to them. You know, a few mottled bruises
and dried blood on the severed neck, that sort of thing.
We top them off with a head of hair and occasionally a mustache or beard
using a variety of materials. My personal favorite is flax, for the
popular "dead Saxon look" in my persona's homeland.

They are a very effective shock tactic for a melee. They don't count as
weapons, but they can sure bring disorder into the ranks of a unit that
has never experienced being bombarded by the heads of their friends and
relatives. And they are perfectly safe!

They might be handy to have for Halloween.

Anyone want to make a few? Materials cost will be about $5. The
styrofoam heads are $3.50 of that amount, so if you find one in a garage
sale or a flea market for less, you might want to grab it.
I ordered a case of 24 heads (the only way I could find them in the time
I had alloted for it) and they should arrive in a few weeks.
