It was my fault.  Last week I got severe tendonitis in my hands
and stayed away from the computer for a while to let them rest.
So, some things piled up.

Note that you can avoid any delay be sending only plain text
messages to the list.  HTML e-mail will be held because many
viruses are transmitted that way.  It will generally eventually 
end up posted to the list but it might take a few days.  Also
note that if your message has any attachments at all it will
get rejected.  More viruses travel in attachments than anything
else.  (Also, the Merry Rose *is* a text only list.)  Note that
some people's e-mail client (generally Outlook or Outlook Express)
sometimes seems to append a winmail.dat file.  Unfortunately, since
I can't easily tell what the attachment is in the moderator interface,
those messages will get rejected.  If anyone knows of a good way
to make sure that doesn't get attached, please let me know and I'll
add it to the FAQ.  Also, if you know ways to make the various
e-mail clients send plain text instead of html, please send me that
also and I'll add it to the FAQ.  Since I don't use windows, I'm
afraid I have no clue how to write that part of the FAQ myself.
