Greetings again to my fellow subjects of Atlantia. I write to you today on several topics.

First, I would request that those who have access to local lists repost this so that those who are interested in poetry but do not subscribe to the Merry Rose or the performer's guild lists may have a better chance of seeing it. And I thank those who do for doing so.

Second, through the good offices of Lady Failenn MacFergus, who continues her great service managing the web side of it, I have taken over the content of the Atlantian Poetry Page at http://poeta.atlantia.sca.org/. Contact links for myself and Lady Failenn are all over the website--scroll to the bottom of any page. Among other things, you will find there my letters from the Acorn (perhaps even before they appear in that eminent journal, as is currently the case). I also want to revive the custom of my predecessor Lord James of featuring specific Atlantian poets in that forum. If you would like to be a featured poet or know one whom you think should be so featured, please contact me about that by email or snail mail. (My contact information should be in the Acorn in November, or December at the latest, and in the Chartered Notables section of the online Acorn soon.)

Third, as some of you who have been introduced to me several times can attest, I have a serious memory deficiency in regard to names and faces. This is not a good thing in one who holds any office, and I ask your patience in dealing with me. If I meet you at an event and have met you before and cannot recall you name, I ask you in advance to forgive me. I mean no slight or insult. It is a life-long failing I have never been able to overcome. I hope I may rely on your patience and forgiveness should you be subjected to this unfortunate aspect of my character.

Fourth, I thank those who have already responded to my request for teachers for a poetry track at the next University in Isenfir. It promises to be a track with a wide variety of topics, aimed at and taught by poets with a wide variety of experience levels and interests. If you are thinking about doing a course and have not contacted me yet, please do so soon. There are still slots available. I have to have the complete information ready to send to the Chancellor by November 15.

Fifth, my persona has ever been that of a recluse and a hermit. There are many of you out there practicing the poetic arts whom I do not know or know about. I urge you to please contact me by email. I would like to put together a mailing list strictly for my personal use as Poeta so that I need not bother the entire tavern every time I have poetic news of interest. Not that I intend to stop using this forum--a Poeta who is not often seen should at least be heard from!

That is enough for now. I encourage the poets and poetry devotees among you to visit the Atlantian Poetry Page often, and to contribute to it also.

Your servant,
Lord Thomas Broadpaunch
Poeta Atlantiae
