Passage to the East V: Return to England
November 8th-10th, 2002
Canton of Falcon Cree
The year is 1487 and England is in turmoil. While Lord Woolsey and his
entourage traveled the globe in search of gifts for the beautiful Baroness,
Lambert Simnel has challenged Henry VII for the throne of England. Our Baron
and Baroness have been locked in the Tower of London for voicing their
opinion of the King's policies. Local supporters are taking advantage of the
King's distraction to attempt a rescue of the Baron and Baroness.
The day will begin with a single elimination tourney for both heavy & rapier
to determine the leader of the King's Guards and the leader of the
rebellion. Teams will be chosen and breech, field and bridge battles will be
fought. In order to remain historically accurate, the losing heavy and
rapier teams will be in charge of kitchen clean-up after feast.
There will be an archery shoot, equestrian activities and 5 hours of
children's activities planned. There will be a children's feast for $3. You
MUST PRE-RESERVE your child if they will eat children's feast.
There will be several A&S competitions: 1) Anything that would have been in
the Tower of London in 1487. The item must be edible. 2) Anything that has
been entered in an A&S contest from Passage East I-IV. The Baroness will
choose her favorite item. 3) A 5 page research or documentation paper. No
other display will be permitted. Papers must be submitted by Oct 15 for
judging. Please e-mail the autocrat for the address to submit this work. 4)
youth and teen open. 5) Best bardic chant for or against the cause. And
finally, there will be a volunteering contest for the teens that will be
explained at Troll.
Feast will be cooked by Master John le Burguillun and his wonderful kitchen
staff. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot early.
Cost is $8 daytrip/$13 on-site/feast is $6. Please take $3 off the daytrip
or on-site fee if you are a member. Reservations should go to Janine Sutter,
203 Gray Circle, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Checks made payable to "Canton of
Falcon Cree, SCA Inc". Autocrat is Lord Sinclair Hawkins (Trey Sutter),
