If your group would like to host KASF on the first
weekend of March 2003, please submit your bid to
Katherine Luvel. KASF *may* be moved to June in 2004,
but for the upcoming year the March date will remain
in effect.
I know it can take a while to get an entire bid
together, but it would be helpful if you're working on
putting one together to let us know that now.
What is needed for this event? At minimum, one large
room for displays/competitions, 5 other rooms for
guild and other activities, an area for Court, a
private room for the royals. More rooms could be
utilized pretty easily, and it would also be nice to
have an area for people to relax/eat lunch/listen to
performers. Outdoor space for games (if the weather is
good) would be nice, too. A loading/unloading zone for
people bringing a lot of items with them, sufficient
parking for 150-200 people.
If you have a camping site that can accommodate the
A&S display/meeting area needs, feel free to use it!
There's nothing that says this must be a day event if
your groups wants to develop it further. (Remember the
Groggy Griffen Tavern a couple of years ago? No
fighting at all, lots of people, and lots of fun!)
If you have the sort of site that works for a
University session, those bids would certainly be
welcome as well.
I would be greatly saddened if my successor's first
job is to announce the cancellation of KASF for 2003.
Yrs,
KR
