December 14th - Feast of St. Andrews

Canton of Tear Sea's Shore, Harleyville, S.C.

'Tis time once again for the fair Canton of Tear-Sea's Shore to celebrate the heritage of the Patron Saint of Scotland: Saint Andrew.  A full day of festivities is planned which will include the Canton's celebration of the Yuletide Season.

The Site:  The day will be spent at the Harleyville Community Center (20 South Railroad Avenue) in Harleyville, SC (29448).  Doors open at 9:00am and close at midnight.  The site is wet.

The Fighting:  Heavy fighting activities will include our traditional Great Weapons Tourney as well as other contests.  And our Rapier fighters will not be excluded!  There will be plenty of scenarios for you as well.  Be sure to sign-in at the MOL table with armor inspections beginning at 11:00 am.

The Arts:  There will be a Yuletide-Themed Dessert competition to challenge Atlantia's many wonderful cooks, both near and far. (You know who you are!!!!)  This competition is not limited to period recipes.  Tokens will be provided to all gentles who attend to judge this competition.  There will also be an open Arts and Science competition for period art forms with documentation required.

The Feast:  A sumptuous period feast will be prepared by Lady Anastasia dello Scudo Rosso.  Any gentles with dietary concerns should direct questions to the Autocrats.

The Cost:  On-board is $13.00 for Adults and $8.00 for children ages 6-12.  Off-board is $8.00 for Adults and $5.50 for children ages 6-12.  Children 5 and under are guest of the Canton.  If you are a member of the SCA, please deduct $3.00 from the above cost.  Please make all reservation checks payable to "Canton of Tear-Sea's Shore/S.C.A. Inc." and send them directly to Lady Ygraine DeBracy.

The Directions: Take your best route to I-26 west of Charleston, South Carolina.  Take Exit 177 (Route 453) towards Harleyville.  Follow this road approx. 1 mile until it ends at a T-junction.  Turn left onto Route 178 towards downtown Harleyville.  At the flashing yellow light, turn right.  The site is approximately two blocks ahead on your left.  There will also be SCA signs posted.
