[MR] Looking for Documentation

Good Morning, all,

I am looking for documentation for "Sugar Platte" or other mold-able sugars,
for use in food sculpture.  I have documentation back as far as 1609 (Platt,
Sir Hugo, etc.), but have been told that the Laurel Community frowns on out
of period references.  And nine years out is still out.  So, if any good
gentle can point me toward an earlier source, for a similar product, I will
be grateful.  Please cross post this plea, at your discretion, since I am
not on any of the fine Cooks Lists of our Society.  With prior thanks and a
