[MR] Pages Aacdemy classes at University

The following are the classes for Pages at October
Atlantian University this weekend (you do not have to
be a Page to attend these classes, these classes are
geared to kids ages 9-13) - room locations will be
posted at University:

11-12  Introduction to Service (1 hour) this is one of
the required pages classes.  This first part of the
class will discuss the types of ways people provide
service in the SCA, identifying service awards and the
ways pages can provide service to the local group and
the kingdom.  The second part of the class will be a
practicum where the participants get the chance to do
some service activities at University.

1:30-3:30 Life In The Middle Ages (Tehair MacDiarmada)
- come join in this role playing game and try your
hand at being a baron(ess), knight, merchant and
peasant and learn a little about fealty, justice, war,
plague and other important aspects of life in the
middle ages.  (no fee).

3:30 - 4:30 Introduction to Dance (Lady Marion le Red)
1 hour.  Bring your dancing shoes and learn some of
the common  dances at Atlantian events. No fee.

4:30 -5:30 "You Too Can Haiku" (Tehair MacDiarmada) -
we will discuss some forms of period Japanese poetry
similar to the haiku (a short poem of only 3 lines)
and try our hand at writing (and in some cases
illustrating) in these period forms. No fees.

There are service opportunities for pages as well at
University:  the chancellor needs 1-2 pages to help
ring the bill at the end/beginning of class periods
and to run errands, the autocrat could use the help of
pages to run errands and to help gentles bring in/out
items for classes.

The Registration for Pages Academy will be available
from 9-12:30 to address questions, arrange inductions,
turning in requests for credits and updating records.
