For anyone in the Houston area, I received this from another group
today. I have no business relationship with The Museum of Fine Arts -
I am only posting this for anyone else who might be interested. I
hope no one is offended by this advertisement.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, (Texas) will have a wonderful
exhibit
and many programs featuring "Leonardo da Vinci and the Splendor of
Poland." The exhibit runs from December 8 - February 17, 2003. This
is a
once in a lifetime opportunity.
The museum will also host many activities focusing on the exhibition.
There will be:
Storytime Sunday: Leonardo da Vinci
Creation Station: Imaginative Inventions
Family Day: Splendor of Poland
Chopin Society of Houston Young Musician's Performance
Lecture: The Golden Age of Poland
The Splendor of Polish Music.
Many of the paintings were stolen or displaced during WWII and are
being
shown for the first time since their recovery and conservation. More
than 80 exceptional paintings from Poland's national museums will be
featured. See the famous da Vinci paintings, "Lady With an Ermine"
(c.1490) and "King Stanislaus Augustus Poniatowski with an Hourglass"
(1793).
Enlighten your friends and family to the beauty that is Poland. Share
Poland with your children and grandchildren. Participate in art-making
activities and see historical posters illustrating prominent events
and
personalities of Poland, folk art cutouts and painted Easter eggs.
Different activities will be held on various Saturdays or Sundays
during
Dcemeber and January. Don't miss out on this opportunity to "visit
Poland."
The following link is the main web page for the museum. If you do a
search within the site you'll be able to locate information about "The
Splendor of Poland."
