[MR] jousting at Jongleurie

Greetings all,

For those of you interested in fighting at Jongleurie
this weekend, there are some pertinent facts you
should be aware of in advance.

The tourney will be in the form of a joust.  This web
link shows the designs for the horses and some photos
of them in operation:

The joust will be followed by a melee at the barrier,
with the two tourney finalists as captains of the two
sides.

Prizes will be awarded for tourney winner, and for the
most chivalrous fighter of the day.

Due to the nature of the jousting activity, spear
authorizations will be required to participate.  We
will, of course, be holding spear authorizations.  We
will have some loaner equipment (spears, gauntlets,
arms) of average size.  So if you've been meaning to
get that spear authorization for Pennsic and haven't
gotten around to it, now's your chance!  

That said, we did a test run with the horses this
evening, and everyone had a blast.  Come out this
weekend and join the fun.
