Greetings unto the Populace of the Fair Kingdom of Atlantia and its
neighboring regions! I would like to announce the First Annual Table-Top

Siege Engine Competition, to be held at the 2nd Annual Market Day Fair
and
Tourney, on November 15-17 (which will be held at Kings Mountain State
Park
and hosted by the Canton of Charlesbury Crossing). We wish to announce
this
now, so that interested citizens of the Kingdom will have time to
construct
and perfect their miniature engines of warfare! If you have questions
regarding size limits and rules for the contest, please reply to either
the
canton e-list (charlesbury at yahoogroups.com or to me directly at
lordwolfram at hotmail.com ).

We will also be posting rules for this contest on our Canton website in
the
near future (http://Charlesbury.Atlantia.SCA.Org ). The Grand Prize
Winner,
First and Second Place will be selected based upon a combination of
research
& documentation, accuracy of design and how well the engine actually
operates. There will be a second category for entrants based solely on
accuracy of projectile placement (something along the lines of closest
to
the bulls eye with 3-5 shots at the engines "max range". The number of
shots
will depend on the number of entrants; firing to take place outside in
the
"archery" field, of course). First, Second and Third place will be
awarded
for this competition. More information on additional A&S displays,
classes
and competitions will follow in the near future.

Yours in service,
Lord Wolfram von Taus
