The class schedule for Jongleurie is full of wonderful classes, sure to be
entertaining! Come prepared for lots-o-learning! I can't wait to see
everyone there and please make sure you attend at least one of these very
exciting classes. They aren't all listed yet, so there is more to come!!!
 See the schedule below:

Class Descriptions

Beginning Dance – Martine de Romilly and Theodora von Schmetterlingswald
If you can walk or wield a sword, you can DANCE! Two left feet? No
problem. Renaissance dance LIKES left feet! We will be learning the very
basics of French dance and putting them together in a processional pavane
and a flirting bransle (hey you fighters, that’s pronounced “brawl”).

Introduction to English Country Dance – Aine of Buckston
Heart’s Ease, Sellinger’s Round, Jenny Pluck Pear, and Black Nag
No previous dance experience necessary.

“Green Knights? Good Knight!” Bardic Circle/Discussion – Lady Eleanor
Percy
Come, bards! Come to share your funniest period stories and songs – show
examples of medieval humor from your country or time period, be it
brilliant or bawdy. Come and learn some new ones! If you know
geographical or historical reasons why some jokes, songs, or stories came
to be funny, come prepared to talk about them! Listeners welcome… (Be
prepared with an alternative, non-bawdy story if young ones are there.)

Bardic Arts 101 – Lady Anna MacKenzie
Enjoy singing or telling stories, but don’t know where to start? Afraid
of performing in front of others? This class will serve as an
introduction to the Bardic Arts as practiced within the Society and
hopefully provides some basic information on sources & bardic courtesy to
get you started. Newcomers & experienced bards willing to put in their
own 2 pence worth alike are very welcome!

Improvised Story Techniques – Ruaidhri
Methods for improvising stories which are entertaining and easy.
Stories, Audience Participation Stories, Trunk Shows

Vocal Production for Bards – Ruaidhri
Methods for increasing volume, clarity, and reducing vocal strain.

Singing Period Rounds – Ysolt la Bretonne
Rounds are for folks who think they can’t sing parts. Those who *can*
sing parts are welcome, too. Song book available at cost.

Henna Party – Kateryn Rous
A brief overview of the use of henna to create temporary ‘tattoos’ in
period. Materials will be available for participants to apply their own
henna designs, but be aware that the designs will need to be left
basically undisturbed for approximately 6 hours for best results.

“Spaniels and Parrots and Deer, Oh My!” – Kateryn Rous
A brief look at the lives of companion animals in Tudor England, with
illustrations.

Contact Juggling 101 – Pontius Phaedrus
Learn the basics of one-ball juggling, including basic transfers, where to
get stuff for beginners, and as a special bonus, how not to break every
window in your house!
