Well, isn't this a piece. (Edozein txoriri, eder bere habi - to any bird,
beautiful its nest)

This comes from a Basque sheep and goat herder/farmer that lives on the
border of this here northern barony. Check your Basque history - we have
always let those that travel through to keep going with no problems.
(Bakoitzari Berea, eta beti adiskide - To each their own, and always be
friends) It usually takes quite a bit to get our dander up but when we do,
pitchfork? Sword maybe, or better yet a longbow. Just ask Roland's ghost
(you know of him - he's the cousin of Charles the Great), he can still be
heard blowing his horn in the mountain pass of Roncevalles. (Nola bizi, hala
hil - how live, thus die)

As for insulting - bihotzean dagoena, mihira irten (what is in the heart,
comes out to the tongue). To insult someone is to never expect them to talk
to you again, ever. (lehenean barka, bigarrenean urka - the first time,
forgive: the second time, hang)

Feet stink & look funny - I'm glad you remember me walking around barefoot
at your event about six weeks ago. Nice to be remembered. (Mendiak mendia
behar ez du, baina gizonak gizona bai - Mountains don't need other
mountains, but people do need other people)

As for coming down there, we'll be waiting - sounds like fun, had fun the
last time. (eguzki bera, on ala gaiztoentzat - the same sun, for the good or
the bad). But aren't you supposed o be coming up here first? See ya the
first of September.

Remember - dakizunaz gutxi mintza zaitez, ez dakizunaz bat ere (about what
you know speak little, about what you don't know not at all)

Ignacio Erensaurlezelasgarria, Menditarra (Ignacio
caves_of_the_green_dragon_Saur, the Mountaineer)

(Gaizki esanak barkatu, ondo esanak ondo hartu - Sorry if I said anything
untrue or offensive, but try to remember what I said that was true and
pleasing [Lit: forgive the badly said, take well the well said])

Chorarazi, Kemen, Jakinduria & Neskametza (Honor Valor, Knowledge, and
Service)
