Return To Troy will feature several elaborate sets, including a motte
and bailey, tavern and storehouse to storm. We guarantee your fill of
fighting! Both heavy and light will use the sets, with archers
participating as permitted. Teams will be comprised of 5 fighters with
no more than 3 shields.
The day's activities will start with a team bear pit tourney fought in
the streets of downtown Elkin. This portion of the event is a demo for
downtown Elkin. Teams must participate in the demo-portion of the
fighting to be included in the other fighting scenarios. Combat archers
will not be participating in the bear pit. After the bear pit, fighters
will be shuttled back to site to being a tavern battle, raiding the
storehouse, fighting through more redoubts, ending up at the motte and
bailey. http://charlesbury.atlantia.sca.org/event/troy_fighting.htm has
all the details on the fighting.
In addition to tons of fighting, many members of the Spinners Guild are
bringing their equipment. We encourage all artisans who wish to bring
and set up equipment or displays. Musicians and buskers are welcomed, as
well.
Dancing will be helb by torchlight on Saturday night. Court dancing will
be in one area, Middle-eastern dancing in another.
The camping area has expanded into the trees along the riverbank this
year, and the swimming pool is ours from 6-9 on Saturday, so bring a
suit.
