[MR] Dealing with dryrot in fur garments

Greetings:
    I am having a problem with dryrot in some foxtails on a cloak.  Is there
a way to repair the tails (they're disintegrating midway down the tail), or
will I just have to replace them?  Any help with this would be greatly
appreciated. Answers can be posted privately to me at btrc at digdat.com, or,
if you think there's enough general interest, to the group.
