I find it curious that the MSRP is now $15 when I paid $45
initially a few months ago and it arrived broken.
When I mailed it back at my expense I asked for the
difference in postage costs to be remitted to my card.

I was told -that- really wasn't in the 'spirit' of the SCA.
After 20+ years in the SCA I thought I had a handle on that.
Perhaps they understand chivalry differently in their part of Caid.
I had a better definition of honor by age 10 and I'm 50 now.

First of all, I've never charged an exhorbitant amount for
anything. Perhaps like many retailers they have decided
they've gotten the all the high price customers they are
liable to get and have now 'discounted' the film. I wondered
how long it would stay at that very high price.

Second of all if there was ever anything wrong with -anything-
I made or did (very, very rarely) I paid to replace it at -my-
expense (both time and materials) - as a professional.
Real life 'professionals' I worked around had the same ethic.
So I found their 'spirit' sadly wanting. Grating actually.

While a better film about the SCA than several others I have
I really would have liked a geographically wider view of
the SCA than just Caid. I had expected such for the price.
Their initial advertising made it seem so.

The review seemed quite fair though.

In comparison:

"How Estrella War was Won" was simply dreadfully boring and
should have been embarassing to at least one of the Warlords.
Had he been captain of a ship she'd have foundered before
she hit the rocks. Terrible scenes in one tent of moping about
indecisively. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy it. I wish I hadn't.

"Once Upon a Weekend" is fairly priced and more basically
useful for a brief intro at demos but short of scope.
It appears to have been shot at a very small event with
a small populace but adequate actors for what they had to
work with. Nice if you want to start a shire.

http://www.renstore.com/ if you want to buy it. At least
where I bought it.

"Pennsic XX" needed better narrators who'd seen a dentist during
their lifetime. If they had edited out the narrators they'd have
had a much better film. Perhaps it was that 'medieval' look they
wanted. That part of the film made me wince and cringe.
