Might I suggest that this thread be taken to private e-mail, since it's becoming apparent that those on both sides are set in their mindsets?

Seems to me that avoiding arguments of this exact sort is the best possible rationale for GP&D #10 (I believe it's #10...whatever the widely misunderstood "Religious stuff should not be forced on anyone in the main area of an event" one is).

Given that there are those on this list who are practicing Catholics, practicing Protestants, practicing Wiccans, practicing Jews, practicing Hindus, practicing Atheists, practicing Agnostics, and nonpracticing anything (and probably a whole host of others), not everyone is likely to be interested in what basically comes down to a question of Canon Law as self-defined by the body of a specific denomination with a specific set of beliefs.
