Unto the good people of Northern Atlantia:
Seeing as how northern Atlantia is in the midst of a baby boom and noting
how quickly little ones grow, I would like to announce the inception of the
Baby Garb Exchange.
Here is how I see this working:
I will be the ³receptical² for garb and requests for garb for children under
the age of 2 years. If you have garb that you are willing to donate or
³loan² please let me know and I¹ll arrange to pick it up. I will then
photograph all items and post the photos on my yahoo! Photos page (SCA baby
clothes) with an approximate size.
If you are need of garb for your llittle one, call or email me and we can
discuss what your needs are verses what I have. The items can then be
mailed to you or dropped off at the next event, whichever works better.
A couple of caviates:
1. As much as I like sewing and will continue to do so for my little girl, I
can¹t make everything myself.
2. If you have made something special and are willing to loan it but may
want it back, I will keep your name and at your first request send the
garment back to you.
3. I cannot be responsible for ³baby accidents² that may stain clothing. :)
4. Each ³borrower² is responsible for returning the garments clean (or as
clean as possible) when their little one has outgrown the outfit so others
may have use of it.
I would also like to begin collecting ³tips and ideas² from those of you
that have made baby & children¹s garb. I am putting together a document to
give to all participants and anyone else interested in ³clothing for
minors².
Thank you all for taking time to listen to my ramblings. Suggestions are
welcome!
Southern Atlantia, I apologize, but I never get down your way to events
(anybody willing to open up a southern branch if this goes well?)
In Service,
