Milk paint is one of the two types of paint used on period furniture. milk
paint is proper and so is egg tempera. both can be made or purchased. to
make egg tempera or milk paint use pigment (which you can buy at most good
art shops or from me). the difference between them is that egg tempera
should use the egg yolk and with milk paint use thick milk or sour cream.
the milk paint is very easy to use, blends well, and dries fast. If anyone
is uneasy about trying it alone I will be giving a class on making all
period type paints at Pennsic or I will be happy to meet you at an event.
Just email me with questions, I am happy to help. If you need me I will get
back to you as soon as I can.
