Greetings to the list.
I have followed this with some interest and I have something to add.
You can get a pavilion from Sam's that will do the trick.
The pavilion I am talking about is the one that Sam's sells for putting up 
over your car to protect it from the birds and the elements.  It looks almost 
exactly like a rectangular, peaked roofed pavilion that Panther Pavilions 
sells, except it is made up of tough plastic instead of canvas.  
Measurements were taken all the way around and dags sewn in such a way that 
they drapped over the top.  We are now thinking up ways to possibly paint the 
sides but we are not sure yet what type of paint will stick to it permanently 
yet.  So we use cloth hangings right now for the doors and sides.
The whole thing costs about $200.00 and nicely fits into the budget and with 
a little thought can be made to appear as period as you wish!
