While the thought was generous, Lady Ceara, I fear that this site is not
as good as it should be for the purposes of choosing an SCA name. Even
at a cursory glance, I see many names that are lacking the accent marks
(and in Irish Gaelic they *are* important!), many that have been
anglicized, some that are only legendary and/or the names of deities,
OOP names, a few that are not Irish at all, and even some that combine
two or more of these problems.
If you wish to look on the Internet for Irish names, betake yourselves
to: http://www.panix.com/~mittle/names/irish.shtml
or
http://www.s-gabriel.org/docs/#ireland for documented names.
Remember, it's just as easy to fall in love with a documented name as an
undocumented one[1], and a lot easier on everyone's nerves!
