What you might try doing is to use the modern tent/pavillion as a pattern
for the canvas part, then replace the metal poles, which are usually very
cheaply made and not good to use for the purpose, with closet poles (wooden)
cut to the proper length. You can pound nails into the top of the poles to
fit into the openings on the canvas and the ropes. I'd also recommend
purchasing the wrought iron tent stakes from Panther or a blacksmith.
