September 14 ~ DANTE'S INFERNO 

September 14, 2002 Hosted by the Barony of Black Diamond

Site: Land owned by Master Snaeulf Hurrolfsson and Mistress Rosatrude the Shrew located in Willis, Virginia, on route 221 in Floyd County. Site opens at 8 am and closes at 11pm. Alcohol is allowed discreetly with no original containers please. The site is very primitive with no shower facilities available but there will be a portable toilet on site. No pets allowed If you see a donkey wandering around it is because he lives there. Be certain to close the gate behind you when entering the site so that the donkey does not get out.

Activities : Dante Allighieri has taken a wrong turn in life. Help him get back on the straight and narrow by spending the day in the Inferno ! We will have a quest based around the theme of The Inferno. Fighter's combat is contained within the quest as a series of one on one battles. 

Arts & Sciences : Contest : Best representation of a mythlogical character in any medium. We will also have mask making classes going on as well. There will be a Heaven & Hell themed masquerade with music and possibly a bonfire in the evening.

Feast : Firetending and roast beast ably cooked by Mistress Rosatrude the Shrew. All other edible things provided by Lady Adrianna Broussard. For dietary restrictions, contact her at 540 961-2830

Merchanting : There is limited merchant space available. For further information contact Master Snaeulf Hurrolfsson at 540 745 4054

Cost : Cost for attending is $13.00 for the day. Please make checks payable to The Barony of Black Diamond, SCA Inc. 

Reservations : Send all reservations to the Autocrat. The only reservation is a paid reservation.

Directions : From Interstate 81 : Exit 114 is marked Rt. 8 Floyd / Riner / Christiansburg. Take this exit and follow Rt. 221 South into Willis. After about 0.4 of a mile, Turn off Rt. 221 onto Rt. 761 ( Sugar Tree Rd ) at the Mria Fork Baptist Church sign. Turn right onto Rt. 624 ( Reece St. )The site is the first driveway on the right about 100 yards from the church. There will be signs to assist your way.
