The competitions for Cattle Raids are anything Celtic
with an emphasis on cow-related themes. The royal
brewer will sponsor a brewing competition. Also note
a competition in response to His Highness’s challenge
at the bottom.

When entries arrive categories will be assigned if
needed.

For this competition, we will not be using the
standard Atlantian forms for judging but a simple
ranking system instead. Inside each category, items
are ranked against each other, like at a county faire.
Entries are anonymous and entrants are given a
comment card with an id number to place next to their
items before displaying.

As I mentioned earlier, there will be a great emphasis
applied to documentation. If items entered are of
similar quality, those items with the more detailed
documentation will be the winner.

Of course we will also have space for an open display.

For those interested, we hope to have shadow puppetry
during the day. Times will be listed at the event.

Also, in response to His Highness’s challenge, we are
sponsoring a Newcomer’s Kit Competition. This kit
includes (but is not limited to) a tunic, a pair of
pants (or a period ladies' outfit), one mug. Other
items may be added at the interest of the entrant.

Judging will not be based on how “flashy” or expensive
the items are but on the documentation of the items
and how close they match the period version of the
item. Pictures of the period version will be a huge
help towards winning.

We hope that you can create your entries for a
specific newcomer you’ve met or encouraged before the
event. If newcomers are not in need of these items,
the entrant can retrieve them or they will be donated
to the Gold Key. The entrant may decide which gold key
receives the items.
