Greetings unto the Populace of Atlantia & Welcome back to the Merry Rose
tavern,
As you are well aware now, the days of the Assessment of his Majesties
troups are fast approaching. A few things that I wanted to take a minute
and remind everyone of who is planning to attend, as well as send out the
flyer for those that need directions and other information, one last time.
Event: King's Assessment Battles
Dates: July 12-14th
Location: Outside of Vinton, VA
Notes:
1) We do have limited running water on site now. That does solve some
problems for us, especially with the weather we have had lately. I know
this was a concern to many about the primitive issues of the site.
2) There is plenty of camping space available based on reserveration and
inquiries I have had thus far. The same is true of both feast and peasants
fare (chow line). Based on the volume of emails I am getting though, I
anticipate those remaining spaces will go pretty quickly once people start
arriving on Friday evening.
3) Unfortunatley, the county the site is located in is currently under a
county wide burn ban. This means NO open fires will be permitted on
site. If you plan to cook or what have you at your camp, bring a grill or
similar device.
4) The warm dry weather has produced an abundance of ticks in the
area. Please try and plan appropiately in this regard with insect
repellent and such.
5) We do plan to have some sort of shower setup available. However, if you
want warm water you will need to bring your own black shower bags.
6) We also encourage everyone to bring a stool, chair, or other sitting device.
7) We have re-arranged parking so that you can drive through, drop your
stuff off at your camp or fighting and on to the parking area.
8) There will be horses onsite, some in use during the equestrian
demo. They are cute and all that, but don't decide to feed/pet them and
such without an owner present. They can kick, bite, and otherwise just be
contrary sometimes.
9) Lastly, anyone who would like to volunteer to assist with water bearing
duties for a bit of time throughout the day will be greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions or need clarifcation don't hesitate to ask.
