1. How do I get there?
This depends on where you live and what kind of time
you have. I have both driven and flown in the past.
The site is in Mississippi about 70 miles NE of New
Orleans, and bout 30 miles south of Hattisburg
Mississippi. If you fly, unless you have someone to
pick you up, you will need to rent a car, so keep that
in mind. If you drive, you will basically take your
best route to I-10 in eastern Mississippi. Just before
you get to the Louisiana/MS line you will go East on
I 59 until you get to Exit 35 (Hillsdale Road). Travel
about .01 miles and turn right at the Hillsdale Resort
Hotel. Follow the SCA signs. There is a map at:
http://www.gulfwars.org/direct.htm

2.How much does it cost to get there?
Again, depends on if you are going to drive or fly.
AirTran is doing $75.00 each way to New Orleans right
now. I priced a ticket from BWI the other day and
round trip was $175.00, which is a great price, but
again you will have to rent a car unless you hook up
with someone else who will already be there, or you
might be able to share the expense of a rental car
with someone else that is going. You can usually get
pretty good prices that time of year, because it is
just after Mardi Gras, and New Orleans has a down turn
in visitors, so you can usually find some deals. The
site fees are not too bad, see :
http://www.gulfwars.org/reserv.htm
For prices. This is the form, so print it out and send
it in! Remember group camping with is "Kingdom of
Atlantia"!!!

3.How long will the entire trip take (from day of
departure to day of return)?
Again, driving or flying will make the difference
here. If you are driving, (again, depending on where
you live) you can count on about an entire day of
driving. From Northern VA (last time I drove, it was
from there) it took about 14 hours, and we drove
straight through. So, just adjust based on the
directions and where you live.

4.How much will I need to cover dally expenses?
Everyone has different ideas of what "necessarys"
are....so some of this will depend on you. If you buy
all your meals (rather that getting a few groceries to
save a few bucks) you are probably looking at $12-$15
per person for 3 meals a day. There are plenty of food
merchants on site (similar to Pennsic in choices and
Price), and the site also provides a "meal plan". The
price has varied, but it is usually pretty reasonable.
They offer 3 meals a day and our camping site is right
next to the main hall where the site serves food. Many
people do pick up a few items at a local grocery store
(closest grocery stores of any size are in Hattisburg,
there is a small "quickie mart" near the hotel where
you turn into the site) so that they will have snacks
and such so that they are not buying 3 meals a day,
but again, your personal preferences and budget apply
here. Other than food and drink, the only other thing
you would need to spend money on would be "adult
beverage", and there again, that will be entirly up to
you. It is a dry county (alcohol can be consumed,
just not purchased) so you have to go to Hattisburg to
buy beer, wine, liquor. There is plenty of shopping, not
on the scale of Pennsic, but pretty good. There were
over 120 merchants last year. So, again,...I am not
sure what else you might HAVE to have other than food
and drink, so if there is some other question in this
area you have, please feel free to ask.

5.Bath houses....there are two options close to where
our land is.
1. There is a shower/bath house at the pool which is
very close to our land.
2. There are bathrooms and showers in the main hall
which is where our land is.

The showers at the pool tend to be less crowded than
at the main hall, depending on what time of day you
go. Early in the morning, is the best time.

Again if you have any other questions.. PLEASE feel
free to ask!!
