I'll take the hit for this one. The class listings Constanza just published
to the list did not contain the Middle Eastern track info, and I find that
it was because I hadn't sent her the correct final version. My bad.

Here's the entire listing of classes, including the Middle Eastern track.
Details for all the classes will soon be available on the ADS3 webpage (
http://isenfir.org/academie/symposium ). An update to the site is imminent,
but I'll go ahead and post descriptions for the three classes that are NOT
yet up on the site.

(Asim al Talib)

5 PM (603) Musical Interpretation (Tahira bint Ibrahim al-Ishbiliyya)

Class Descriptions NOT on the ADS3 website:

(103) Moroccan 6/8: Veda Sereem - A 6/8 rhythm with accents on the 1st and
4th beat. The dance originated and is still performed today in North
Africa. The dancers wear brightly colored dresses or skirts with lots of
ethnic jewelry, and brightly colored scarves. Veils can also be part of the
costume. The scarves are flicked and waved to the palpitating rhythm. The
dance has dynamic hip work and can be performed as a solo or group routine.

(202) Beginner English Country Dance: Adele Desfontaines - This class will
introduce the basic pattern of English Country Dances and go through four of
the easiest and commonly done ECDs: Rufty Tufty, Heart's Ease, Sellenger's
Round, and Gathering Peascods.

(501) Ball Practice: Adele Desfontaines - Some of the dances that may be
danced during the Grand Ball - as many as possible - will be covered.
Possible dances are Black, Lorayne, and Madam Sosilia's Almans; Horse's,
Montarde, and Pease Bransles; and Earl of Salisbury. Others may be
reviewed, pending the experience and whim of the students.

Thanks for your indulgence, hope to see everyone there!

Yours,
// Vard //
