Barre: Let me get my 2 cents in. The hare, not the rabbit (and don't ask me 
what the difference is) was used in divination by the pagan Celts. Queen 
Boudicca was reliably reported to have released a hare before her last battle 
with the Romans, which ran widdershins (the wrong way) as you know, whe lost. 
As others have pointed out--superstitious practices are not necessarily 
"religious." Talk with me about Glastonbury and I'll fill you in on some of
