Nottinghill Coill Baronial Birthday
March 29-30
Greetings to all!! Wanted, stalwart fighters, members of the Academy
Espree, skilled archers, inventive artisans, and very healthy
appetites. The good people of the Barony of Nottinghill Coill invite
you to join us and our good Baron and Baroness, Janos and Rachel, in
celebration of Nottinghill Coill's Baronial Birthday.
Site: Camp Barstow Boy Scout Camp, Rout 3 Box 294B-107, Batesburg, SC
(Ruby Riser Rd.). The site Opens Friday March 29th 6pm and closes at
12 noon on March 31. The site is camping only and handicap spaces are
available. Please no pets allowed. For those who do not wish to camp
hotel arrangements have been made at the Comfort Inn in Lexington SC
located on US 1 near the junction with Hwy 378, (803) 359 - 3099 or
1-800-228-5150. Please let them know that you are with the SCA. Room
rate is $54 plus tax per night. If you call the national number the
regular room rate will be quoted and the adjustment will be made at
the desk when you check in. Contact autocrat for any other questions.
Activities: Planned so far is a Bear pit Tourney for heavy
fighters. Royal Round for archers. Challenge tourney for Rapier. A&S,
Baroness Rachel has asked for a scribal and medallion competition to
help with the baronial backlog. Medallions may be made of any
material. There will also be an open display using Vert and Or. There
will be children's activities. Also the traditional choosing of the
Baronial Champions. All contenders for becoming a champion please
contact their Excellencies prior to the event. The populace is also
encouraged to have a subltie or period style decoration for their
table at feast.
Feast: Once again Ld. Bruno Jager and house Drunken Moose will provide
a most succulent and filling feast that will have minor noble and
Royal both satisfied and stuffed. Allergy considerations please
contact Ld. Bruno at (803) 642-2287 or jager2 at mindspring.com. Feast
space is limited to 300 persons.
Site Fee: Adults $17 on site/ on board, $12 offsite/ on board, $5 off
board/off site. Children age 6-12 half price. Family of 5 or more
pays no more than price for 4 adults (family constitutes parents and
their children). Please send reservations to the autocrat listed
below. Make checks payable to Barony of Nottinghill Coil, SCA Inc. Cut
off for feast reservations is March 22. The only reservation is a
paid one.

Directions: From I -20 take exit 39 Hwy 178 to
Batesburg/Leesville. Where Hwy 178 and S.C. 391 meet continue on 391
towards Newberry (there will be a stop sign outside of town take a
left). Continue to the junction of Hwy 391 and 378 that will be a
traffic circle. Follow CA and Camp Barstow signs from there. From
I-26 take exit 76 SC 219 to Newberry. Take a left at junction of 219
and Hwy 76 towards Columbia. Follow to the Junction of SC 391 and Hwy
76 in Prosperity and turn right. Follow SC 391 for about 10 to 12
miles and look for SCA signs. >From hotel: Take Hwy 378 to Saluda
follows signs at the junction on 378 and 391.
